Attention jewelry and watch design enthusiasts! Tiffany & Co. is on the hunt for 10 residents to take part in their inaugural Design Residency Program in collaboration with the Design Commission Abu Dhabi. Of which, three winning residents will head to Tiffany & Co.’s New York headquarters for a three month internship.

The Design Commission Abu Dhabi (DCAD) has been nose-to-screen, working behind the scenes to connect local talent with world-leading creative institutions across disciplines. The latest partnership with Tiffany & Co. marks the beginning of the Tiffany & Co. Design Residency Program under the chairwomanship of Her Highness Sheikha Shamsa bint Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan.
Founded by jeweler Charles Lewis Tiffany in New York City in 1837, Tiffany & Co. has been one of the biggest household names for as long as we can remember. We pine for the robin’s egg packaging in Tiffany Blue wrapped with white ribbon holding jewels of the highest class. Some of the Maison’s most captivating feats were the Tiffany Setting six-prong diamond solitaire engagement ring, Jean Schlumberger’s legendary Bird on a Rock, Elsa Peretti’s sculptural Bone Cuff, Tiffany & Co.’s HardWear collection, and so on.

Bringing that same world of exquisite jewelry and watch design to the UAE, the residency passes the baton to a new generation of designers by combining Tiffany & Co.’s over two centuries of knowledge with the richness of Emirati culture, architecture, and artistic heritage.
Ten selected residents will develop their own design language through an exploration of the conceptual, creative, and technical foundations in jewelry and watch design. Running from November 2026 to April 2027, the residency will ensue with mentorship, workshops, and an immersive educational journey led by Tiffany & Co. through weekly Saturday sessions in Abu Dhabi.
Participants can expect to experiment with design techniques, research inspirations and the craft, and explore a plethora of materials. Residents will showcase their final projects at the end of the program in a Capstone Exhibition in May 2027 within Abu Dhabi’s cultural landscape.

An exhibition is not the only rewarding factor to completing this exclusive Design Residency Program. A three-month internship at Tiffany & Co.’s New York headquarters from June to August 2027 hangs in the balance for three of the highest performing residents. Opportunities like this are few and far between, especially to be let in to one of the biggest jewelry and watch design Maison’s on the planet, experiencing behind the scenes of Tiffany & Co.’s legacy. Resident applications are open, go forth in haste.
Who can apply: UAE residents (21+) of all nationalities with a foundational knowledge of jewelry and/or watch design.
