Mezzanotte by Bottega Veneta introduces a trio of scents too chic to ignore

This morning at Alicia Bakery it wasn’t the buttery croissants or sugar-dusted brioches that lured in the impossibly chic crowd, but a far rarer indulgence: the unveiling of three new scents added to Bottega Veneta’s Mezzanotte Collection. The atmosphere was drenched in oud, rose, and patchouli, a heady cloud that turned the space into something closer to a dreamscape than a launch.

The stage was set with oversized wooden tables and slabs of black marble where bottles sat like precious artifacts, surrounded by lush greenery and moody florals that gave the whole scene a dreamlike quality. Before the new trio was revealed, guests revisited the Maison’s 2024 creations, a clever prelude to the headliners waiting to be discovered.

Hinoki opened the lineup with a serene presence, hinoki wood and patchouli wrapping everything in meditative calm. It felt like stepping into a forest where time slows down and phones conveniently don’t exist. Next, Almost Dawn brought the opposite effect: warm, gourmand, and positively glowing with chestnut, vanilla, and an unexpected hit of white truffle. White truffle in a perfume – decadent, surprising, and just the right amount of dramatic. Finally came Goodmorning Midnight, the show-stealer (in my humble opinion). Thai oud, rose and wild strawberry came together in a blend that felt daring, like the thrill of something entirely unexpected.

Touch mattered as much as scent. The bottles themselves are small works of art, with Murano-inspired curves and marbles bases echoing Venetian palazzos. They’re objects to be admired as much as worn. And inside, the perfumes trace a global map; oud from Thailand, patchouli from Asia, vanilla with tropical sweetness. Mezzanotte brings together threads from different corners of the world, binding them into a story that lingers on the skin with elegance and depth.

Mezzanotte isn’t just another fragrance launch; it’s a celebration of indulgence, imagination, and a touch of rebellion. The setting may have been a bakery, but the only sweetness that mattered came bottled.

The collection is available for preview at London’s Harrod’s pop-up only from September 2nd to the 28th, and in stores at The Dubai Mall.
