Precisely pinned and delicately folded, the house’s newest "it-bag" finds its soul in a 1952 archival dress — and a laissez-faire spirit.
We are becoming a fan of Jonathan Anderson’s personal Instagram, where he often shares BTS of his Dior adventures, posting crumbs of inspiration alongside a series of emojis. During the Fall-Winter 2026 show, one of his carousels featured a man with a walk-talkie wading into water to re-position a lily pad. I doubt his outfit was Dior, but we enjoyed it nonetheless.

So when Anderson first dropped the new Dior Cigale bag on the gram, he gave her a sweet introduction: “Named after my all time favorite dress by Christian Dior,” he shared as if it were the birth of his first child. A ladylike top-handle style sealed with a bow, the bag takes its silhouette from the 1952 couture dress referenced. Carefully crafted in leather, delicately folded like a letter, and precisely pinned like a dress, the shape gives the illusion of coming undone in a laissez-faire style, as if it were getting undressed for the day.

A signature Anderson touch can also be found on the handle rivets, which form the ‘O’ of Dior. Shaping Christian Dior’s couture into an everyday carrier, Anderson seems to have created a new icon to adore for years to come — she’s already back for FW26 in fun polka dots.
