There is nothing like a Dame to Launch Louis Vuitton’s long-awaited masterpiece in maquillage…
It’s been a long, long, long time coming. But finally, this autumn, Louis Vuitton has officially entered the world of beauty with its inaugural make-up collection. And what a debut it is. Created by legendary make-up artist and Creative Director of Makeup at Louis Vuitton, Dame Pat McGrath, the first chapter of La Beauté Louis Vuitton launches with a luxurious array of lipsticks, lip balms and eyeshadows – each monogrammed with the House’s iconic logo and encased within magnificently swoonsome packaging.

“After more than 20 years behind the scenes at Louis Vuitton shows, I am excited to contribute to the launch of La Beauté Louis Vuitton, combining expertise, creativity and exceptional innovation,” revealed McGrath, who was made an OBE by Queen Elizabeth II in 2021 for her services to the UK’s fashion and beauty industry, becoming the first makeup artist ever to receive a damehood.
Globally revered as a visionary in beauty for our generation; from her transformative runway looks to her culture-shifting editorial work, Dame Pat Mcgrath has shaped the language of modern make-up. Widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in beauty and fashion, the British make-up maverick is noted for her long-standing collaboration with photographer Steven Meisel which has produced some of the most iconic fashion imagery of all time, as well as her work on the runways of Louis Vuitton, John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, Marc Jacobs, and Miuccia Prada.
In her new role as Creative Director, Cosmetics for La Beauté Louis Vuitton, she brings three decades of boundary-pushing artistry to a house known for avant-garde expression. Her long-standing collaboration with Louis Vuitton fashion now evolves into a permanent expression of beauty that has been crafted with the meticulousness of couture.
“Make-up is culture. It’s power. It’s presence. And it’s personal. Luxury in make-up is about performance, craftsmanship, and sensoriality. It’s about textures that feel exquisite, colors that captivate, and formulas that perform flawlessly’, said Dame McGrath. ‘True luxury is when every detail is considered—from the way the pigment melts into the skin to the way a lipstick feels in your hand. It’s the fusion of artistry and technology, of heritage and innovation.”
Embarking on a new creative journey, the House expands upon its longstanding vision rooted in travel, creativity, and savoir-faire. Ultra-luxury and exquisitely designed to be as covetable as any piece seen on the LV catwalk, this ultra-elevated make-up line introduces a highly curated offering of the finest quality make-up, housed in objets d’art designed to be kept forever.

Objects of desire inspired by the trunk-making, artistry, and cultural vision at the heart of Louis Vuitton, each with a McGrath twist, the debut collection – LV Rouge, LV Baume and LV Ombre – is decadently desirable. As with the Maison’s most iconic pieces across fashion, accessories and fragrance, every detail has been considered, refined, and perfected. Designed to be held, treasured, worn and showed off with some very public make-up touch ups, this collection reimagines make-up as ritual and artifact.
Comprising 55 lipsticks (both satin and matte), eight eyeshadow palettes, 10 lip balms, and a luxury travel brush set – as well as the impossibly gorgeous miniature lipstick trunk and vanity cases – everything about this first taste of LV Beaute is delicious. The packaging—a mix of classic black and white with gold accents and LV logos—is divine. Created by renowned German Designer Konstantin Grcic, more frequently celebrated for crafting exceptionally beautiful furniture, the La Beauté Louis Vuitton range boasts an architectural clarity in its design. Each object, whether lipstick or compact, is minimalist yet unmistakably luxurious and elevates from a functional, disposable product into a forever keepsake.
But its even more than just glorious make-up housed in a spectacular outfit – absolutely everything in the collection is refillable, making it supremely stylish AND sustainable.
“Wherever possible, we designed the products to be refillable rather than disposable. We chose materials like aluminum and brass, minimizing plastic and enhancing durability’ revealed Grcic.
“Our approach was about delivering on longevity and quality, while staying true to our sustainable commitments and convictions. These are pieces meant to live with you, to be kept, treasured, and used again and again.”

Given the price tag- lipsticks and balms are around $160 each and the eyeshadow palettes $250 – you’d definitely not want to throw away your lippy once you’ve kissed the bullet goodbye for the last time. With lipstick refills around $69 and eyeshadow refills $92, it’s a serious incentive to be more mindful with your make-up. But as one would expect of the House of Vuitton, this is a collection that’s all about redefining the notion of luxury beauty.
Complementing the spirit of elegance in motion, a dedicated line of small leather goods has also been designed to accompany La Beauté Louis Vuitton. Featuring the iconic Monogram canvas to house make-up brush, to encase blotting papers and to hold lipsticks in miniature vanities, the collection reaffirms Louis Vuitton’s timeless codes while embracing the intimate ritual of beauty.
To mark the launch, limited edition Lipstick Pouches and Nice Beauty Cases will be released in three signature shades that mirror the collection’s heroes – Monogram Rouge, Rouge Louis and Tender Bliss – transforming objects of function into lasting pieces of the Maison’s style, history, and savoir-faire. “We’ve made something heirloom-worthy. Iconic. Bold. And unforgettable,’ said McGrath. “The refillable formats, the rich pigments, the scent in the formulations, the architectural packaging – all of it reflects a commitment to elegance and purpose’. Adding, ‘Like the fashion and the fragrance, this is beauty that travels with you, becomes part of your story, and holds meaning beyond the surface. The goal wasn’t just make-up: it was to create a celebration of luxury and artistry, in the spirit of Nicolas Ghesquière’s timeless designs.
