LORO PIANA WRAPS BERGDORF & GOODMAN IN CASHMERE COOL
Posted By: Sorbet
A narrative of texture, light, and heritage unfolds across Manhattan's most storied windows.
New York City, the place that never sleeps but always dresses for the occasion. It’s the backdrop to chart-topping anthems, from Alicia Keys and Jay-Z’s goosebump-inducing Empire State of Mind to countless cinematic love letters that celebrate its restless energy. Beyond the music and the movies, fashion has always been a pillar in New York’s forms of expression. And when it comes to retail royalty, Bergdorf & Goodman wears the crown. Now, in a striking move, Loro Piana has swept in to share what the city means to its heritage, its history, and its heart.

Loro Piana has turned Bergdorf’s iconic windows into a collection of dreamlike scenes, composed in the brand’s own language of wool, wood, and cashmere. Each vignette tells a story. One shows tiny cashmere bales making their journey from Mongolia to Italy, another suspends fluffy goats in a sky the color of toasted cream, and a third blooms with thistle flowers, a nod to the brand’s enduring emblem since the fifties. There are gestures of Art Deco elegance, hints of nostalgia, and touch of whimsy that pull you into Loro Piana’s world, where craftsmanship is both poetic and precise.
On the man’s side, the narrative turns suave. Miniature vintage cars cruise along the Maison’s signature stripes while rows of fabric bolts line the windows like collector’s trophies. It is a masterclass in refinement, with craftsmanship taking center stage.

As the sun dips below the Manhattan skyline, the façade of Bergdorf & Goodman becomes its own canvas. Through light and movement, it tells the story of Loro Piana’s journey from Mongolian fields to the heart of New York. It feels part art installation, part history, and somehow still serene amid the city’s endless buzz.
Inside the immersion continues with exclusive designs created for the occasion, including rust-toned wool overshirts, fluid grey cashmere sets, and accessories that blend sophistication and ease. The Grande Unita scarf and Unito blanket personalization service invites visitors to slow down and take part in Loro Piana’s craftsmanship firsthand, adding embroidered initials that rune fine fabrics into future heirlooms.
In a city that thrives on spectacle, Loro Piana offers something different. The installation does not compete with New York’s noise; instead, it presents a subtle yet refined way to be magnetic. It is luxury not as performance but as poetry, a gesture that imprints on you long after you have walked past the glass.
The installation is open to the public at Bergdorf & Goodman in New York City through November 3rd.
