JUMEIRAH RESIDENCES AL MARYAH ISLAND: ABU DHABI’S NEXT ICON OF BRANDED LUXURY LIVING

As Abu Dhabi's skyline evolves, a new branded residential landmark blends architecture, hopitality and investment strenght in the heart of Al Maryah Island

In the UAE, skylines are more than infrastructure. They are declarations of intent. Over the years, the country has built a global reputation for architectural ambition, from the visionary work of Zaha Hadid to the engineering prowess of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill behind the Burj Khalifa. Cultural Institutions imagined by Jean Nouvel and Frank Gehry further cemented the nation’s appetite for icons that resonate far beyond their footprints.

Yet the UAE’s real master lies not in how it builds, but in how it lives. Luxury hospitality has become a defining pillar the country’s identity, embodied by properties such as Jumeirah Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab. These are not just hotels, but global benchmarks for service and extravaganza. It is within this context that Emirates Developments introduces Jumeirah Residences Al Maryah Island, a branded residential venture developed in collaboration with Jumeirah that aims to translate that hospitality ethos into everyday life.

Located on a prime combined plot in the heart of Al Maryah Island, adjacent to The Galleria and overlooking the canal with sweeping views towards Reem Island and Abu Dhabi’s skyline, the development occupies one of the capital’s most coveted addresses. Comprising 253 residences ranging from one to five bedrooms, the project positions itself as a refined, highly private waterfront living while contributing a new architectural statement to Abu Dhabi’s evolving skyline.

Designed by Killa Design under the leadership of Shaun Killa, the creative force behind the Museum of the Future and the recently unveiled Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, the tower rises in an amber-hued sculptural form from the water’s edge. Flowing curves and bold vertidal lines define a façade that responds dynamically to shifting light, glimmering at night like a finely cut jewel. Floating terraces, sky gardens and a striking elevated pool introduce a fresh interpretation of vertical waterfront living while contributing a new architectural statement to Abu Dhabi’s evolving skyline.

“Jumeirah Residences Al Maryah was envisioned as an architecture shaped by light, movement and emotion. Responding to Abu Dhabi’s waterfront context, the building evolves throughout the day, capturing the sun, reflecting the sea and becoming a luminous presence on the skyline at night. Our aim was to create a sculptural form that is both iconic and deeply connected to the human experience, supporting wellbeing and contemporary living,” said Shaun Killa, Founder and Design Director of Killa Design.

Inside, the residences are conceived as serene private sanctuaries, with expansive terraces, open layouts and natural materials that evoke understated luxury. The emphasis on light, openenss and uninterrupted views reinfoces a sense of calm, while curated lifestyle programming reflects a deliberate focus on wellbeing and community.

Crucially, the development extends Jumeirah’s hospitality-led philosophy into a residential setting. Residents will benefit from personalized wellness experiences, concierge services, private dining and thoughtfully curated offerings designed to integrate five-star service into daily life. Amenities, including grand arrival lobbies, residents’ lounges and libraries, indoor swimming pools, fitness facilities, family spaces and waterfront dining experiences, support a layered lifestyle with Abu Dhbai’s future-focused urban ambitions.

Scheduled to open in 2031, Jumeirah Residences Al Maryah Island signals a subtle but significant shift in the UAE’s luxury narrative. In a market once mainly defined by height and spectacle, the conversation is evolving towards experience, service and longevity. Here, the icon is not only how it looks against the skyline, but how it feels to live within it.
