At Sorbet, it’s no secret we’re fiends for the best stays around the world. This time, we venture closer to home in West Asia, where culture meets curation at the first Four Seasons hotel built in the region. Within the troughs and crests of Amman’s seven hills, the Four Seasons Hotel Amman is built atop the highest one of the lot, spanning views of the modern city. In fifteen stories, the 163 guest rooms and 29 suites draw from local colors, textures, and materials as an extension of Jordan’s charming character.

On entrance, there’s a rush that feels a bit like a dimension jump – a world between worlds – as we’re met with high ceilings, decorative bannisters, pillars, and arches echoing Jordan’s long-lived history with the Roman Empire. Winner of Condé Nast Traveler’s Triple Crown 2026, the Four Seasons Hotel Amman integrates Jordan’s local landscapes with Western cultures, bottling this essence of intersection and wafting it through every detail, not only the rooms and restaurants, but also in its catalogue of experiences as a stay supplement.
From spa rituals and gastronomy to culturally immersive day trips and water hiking, Sorbet shines a light on the best ways to experience the Four Seasons Hotel Amman and the breathtaking country it resides in.

SPA RITUALS
Originally nomadic tribes, the Nabataeans were best known for carving out the magnificent city of Petra in modern-day Jordan. Despite all the dust, sand, and desert weather endured, it’s certain their skincare did not suffer. Like most ancient civilizations, their grooming culminated a lot of locally sourced oils to deeply hydrate, soothe, and protect the skin well before 10-step Korean skincare routines were around. The Four Seasons Hotel Amman has taken a page out of their history book with the full-body Nabatean Treatment using olive seeds, Oud oil, and Argan oil inspired by their ancient practices.
Known for its mineral-rich black silt, mud from the Dead Sea infuses the skin with high concentrations of magnesium, calcium, potassium, and zinc supporting skin barrier health. Acting like a magnet to pull toxins from pores, this earthly mask can also help regulate excess oil and calm inflammation. Straight from the Dead Sea to the Four Seasons, the Spa Signature Treatment gently exfoliates the skin before bundling the body in a warm Dead Sea mud wrap, cleansing and detoxifying the skin in one go, with a relaxing massage to end.

EXPERIENCE JORDAN
Venturing out of the hotel – a must, as there’s much to see – in the realm of luxury leisure, there’s no one doing it better in Jordan than the Four Seasons. Two decades in Amman means there’s a sort of territory the hotel has over the country’s cultural and historical scene, offering curated ways to experience Petra, the Dead Sea, Amman’s Citadel, among plenty other historical must-visits.
A little more adventurous, but still unmissable, are the aquatic escapades to Wadi Mujib for water hiking, and a chance to explore a little more under the surface with a diving trip to Aqaba.

Among other more cultural visits to museums and galleries, to fully get the Amman experience, Four Seasons will happily guide you to a historical village in north Jordan, Pella, where meditation, dream weaving, yoga, and art therapy (and a shepherd and his sheep) await. The women of Umm Qais further invite a more community-centered approach, inviting guests into their homes for a day, learning their way of life, picking up new skills of basket weaving and Hadab making, and preparing foraged meals.

CULINARY SPECIALTIES
Cities like Jordan truly call for exploration, however, for the in-between days, consider experiencing the culinary side at the Four Seasons Hotel Amman. Their signature French brasserie, La Capitale, plates up a mean Confit de Canard and Crevettes à la Provençal. Journeying through Jordanian-sourced zaatar, mint, sage, and basil, the Foyer Lounge houses local favorites all day long, and afternoon tea. And to end the night, SIRR Japanese Lounge tickles the tastebuds with crisp umami Wagyu Gyoza served with a spicy Ponzu sauce, and some of the most delectable maki to touch our tongues.
