Sometimes time is not on our side, and we need to transition from day to night quickly. But a lack of time does not necessarily mean compromising on the result. You can have a look that evolves in minutes while still looking flawless.
That is exactly what Naoko Scintu taught us during a masterclass at the newly opened Dolce & Gabbana Beauty boutique in Dubai Mall. As the Global Makeup Expert for the brand and the architect behind the looks of Daisy Edgar-Jones and Kaia Gerber, she showed us how the right products and techniques make the shift from a luminous day base to a glamorous evening finish happen almost effortlessly.

– THE BASE
A sturdy and long-lasting base is essential because when your foundation is strong, you do not need to worry about a full re-application for the evening. You can simply touch it up. Naoko ushers us to start with the D&G Everlast Primer. It is light to the touch but mighty in its 24-hour grip, blurring and mattifying without weighing down the skin.
The magic also lies in the application. Instead of just swiping with a brush, Maoko massages the primer deeply into the skin. This method allows the face to truly absorb the product while providing an incredibly soothing experience. Next is the Everlast Foundation, which is a 24-hour full-coverage that is completely transfer-proof. Vital for anyone who has ever ruined a white shirt with a stray collar.
Naoko starts with a single small pump and works from the nose outward to lay the base. It is a true shapeshifter, as she explains that you can keep it sheer or layer it for extra coverage. For a seamless finish, Naoko suggests taking whatever product is left on your hand and simply extending it down to the neck.
For the under-eye, the Everlast Concealer is designed to complement the skin we have already built. Naoko’s trick is to apply concealer only to the darkest areas and blend the rest outward. This acts as a quick fix while you are out during the day and is the perfect companion when you are ready to transition to your night look. To finish the base, we use the Face&Eyes Match Powder to apply a restrained flawless bronze, and the Everlift Luminizer for a halo-like radiance.
– THE DAY LOOK
In true D&G fashion, we need a sultry eye look even for the morning. Using the Ever Icon Eye Palette in shade 01 Amber Venus – Iconic Browns, Naoko guides us to start the crease with a beige shade for dimension. Once that’s laid out, we go for the pinkish pigment to bring a spark and a bit of whimsy to the look. To add more depth, we use the medium brown on the outer part. We bring it all together with the Everfull Hi-Definition Mascara. It has an arched wing brush with short bristles to comb and separate lashes from the root. It’s even formulated with Calabrian oranges to protect and strengthen your lashes.
For the lip, Naoko introduces the My Juicy Sheer Lip Style in shade My 1984. It combines the shine of a gloss with the comfort of a balm. It’s a hydrated tint that isn’t overwhelming.

– THE NIGHT LOOK
“Because this is the night look, we want more emphasis,” Naoko explains. There are no drastic changes here, just building on the established glow. We added more of the Face&Eyes Match Powder to sculpt the cheeks a bit more without making it harsh.
For the eyes, we take the Ever Icon Eye Palette again, hitting the darker shadows for a smoky golden brown contrast. Under the eye and on the outer corner, we apply the dark brown so you won’t really need a kohl. We top the whole look with the Everink Liner. This thing is so pigmented and will not budge. The wand allows for the most precise application, so just go for the win with this one.
Night out call for a bold red. The My Comfy Matte Lip Stylo in shade My 14.02, provides instant rich color in one stroke, making the ultimate statement.
