L’ESTATE ETERNA

Miu Miu immortalizes summer through fabric, form, and attitude.
There is something about summer that lingers long after the season fades. It’s not just the warmth of the sun or the pull of the sea – it’s a feeling. One that is suspended in the haze of heat, the pulse of music, and late-night skies of our youth. A heavy blend of nostalgia and liberation. It’s freedom, neither loud nor grand, but found in small acts of defiance – late nights, skipping responsibilities, chasing your own coming- of-age. And it’s precisely this mood that Miu Miu captures in its L’Ete 2025 collection: a portrait of a season of freedom, of girlhood remembered, and rebellion.

Nostalgia and rebellion are sewn into the collection’s every detail. Childhood uniforms are reinterpreted with a fresh new twist – cotton poplin skirts skim the knee, knitted bustiers sculpt the torso, while abbreviated bra tops contrast against full, voluminous silhouettes. Tennis skirts collide with oversized sweaters; polos are acquainted with tailored ensembles.
The palette swings between bold statements – sun-washed pinks, lipstick red, dreamy periwinkle – and grounded in classic school-uniform grays, mirroring the spontaneity of summer itself.
Miu Miu leans further into the intimacy of the everyday, in its continued dialogue with Petit Bateau. Soft, striped tanks and briefs – iconic in their simplicity – become souvenirs of youth, not simply remembering it but also redefining it. They’re lived-in clothes that carry the imprint of experience, turning nostalgia into something immediate and unapologetic.

Accessories echo the collection’s tension between play and polish. Mary Janes with blocky, girlish charm, mismatched sneakers feel impulsive and free, clogs that ground the wearer in a crafted past. The Wander and Beau bags are reinterpreted in woven leather, while the Aventure returns in sun-bleached suede. Raffia totes transport you to spontaneous escapes, while backpacks in primary canvas bring hints of schoolyard nostalgia. The aviator is reimagined, presenting an eyewear staple that is oversized and unbothered. As for jewelry, it takes its cues from gardens and childhood treasures – floral charms, creature-like details, and trinkets that feel collected rather than curated. Each look unfolds like a personal narrative, not bound to one memory, but layered with many, worn-in and worn free.
In Miu Miu’s summer world, nothing is too precious, but everything is treasured. It’s a coming-of-age that resists conclusion, a wardrobe defiant against finality. Freedom here is lived-in and intimate. Summer in this context is not something we grow out of; it’s something we carry with us, styled our own way, for as long as we choose not to let go.
