LOVE ON THE BRAIN

All hail Queen RiRi, The new face of Dior J'adore...

The image of Charlize Theron emerging from a golden pool of lava dripping in sequins and spritzed with Dior J’Adore is hard to beat, but when Dior announced that Rihanna would be the new face of the Maison’s famed fragrance, the Internet went wild. In September, the highly-anticipated campaign dropped and we’ve had ‘Love on the Brain’ (and J’Adore in our handbag) ever since. But for those of you who haven’t seen Rihanna’s coronation (where you have been?), here’s a recap of the film directed by Steven Klein…

The Palace of Versailles is drenched in a golden light. Rihanna comes into frame at the gate, wearing an all-black ensemble designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri, topped with a baseball hat and big sunglasses to conceal her identity. Strutting into the palace as if were her own, Rihanna grabs the iconic-shaped bottle of J’Adore and starts to undress, releasing her honey blonde locks from their disguise. The star ties herself into a gown embellished with golden sequins (more brilliance by Maria) and wraps a beaded choker around her neck, mirroring the collar of the bottle. Gliding into Versailles’ gilded Hall of Mirrors, to tune of her own song ‘Love on the Brain’, RiRi becomes a modern-day queen dripping in Dior.

After a balcony scene and her very own own walk through the golden waters of J’Adore (or in this case, the grand canal at Versailles), Rihanna is offcially immersed in Dior’s fragrance family, finishing with the line, “Your dreams. Make them real.”

Off camera, when asked how she felt wearing J’Adore, Rihanna replied, “Personally, I feel that perfume has so much power. It can give you self-confidence, awaken memories, and transport you to a different place. J’Adore makes women feel that they can become who they really want to be, deep down inside. It’s magical!”
