GUCCI
ROYAL BEE
Considered details set the designs apart; Alessandro Michele’s successful exploration and revival of Gucci’s archival pieces is proving that oldies can still be goodies when given the correct treatment. Part of the Roman House’s Gucci décor collection – an eclectic line of furniture and decorative pieces – this velvet cushion with its embroidered bee motif is the new companion we want to add to our ever-growing home menagerie. Once an exclusive posterior perk of nobility, each of the label’s pillows are filled by hand, sewn and edged with hand-applied braided trims and fringe tassels. It’s the perfect home addition for any living room in dire need of a fashionable accent.
PIAGET
BLAZING LIGHTS
The Arabian desert – its infinite landscapes and dunes of golden sands have been a particular source of inspiration for Piaget this year. Launched last summer in the South of France, the Golden Oasis High Jewelry collection is the brand’s celebration of the desertic wilderness’ breathtaking beauty. Boasting the magnetic allure of the arid region’s lava beds, the Blazing Lights parure holds the full- tilt glamour we yearn for. Comprising a necklace, earrings, and ring, it is crafted with 18-carat white gold, strands of delicate diamonds, and magnificent pear-shaped rubies. A wonderful homage to one of nature’s most captivating places.
DIOR MAKEUP
HAPPY 2020
2019 was an exciting year for Dior Makeup and Peter Philips, the brand’s Creative and Image Director. After launching new additions to the Dior Backstage collection and some fresh-faces announcements (including British singer Jorja Smith), the French House’s beauty department is closing the era with a bang. The inspiration behind 2019’s holiday collection: fireworks! And you bet it burns. With two eye palettes, new liquid eyeshadows, a range of vibrant lip shades and an eye-catching set of nail polishes, inclusive of a multi-colored glitter topcoat (the ‘g’ of glitter was enough to get us excited), the ‘Happy 2020’ collection offers plenty to make you feel resolutely confident all the way through January.
DOLCE & GABBANA
BLAME IT ON THE JUICE
We all remember Carrie Bradshaw’s admission to cheating on fashion with furniture, for that #lifegoals apartment on Fifth Avenue she bought with Big (boss move; we’re still proud). But thanks to Dolce & Gabbana there is now a way to get that new fashion-snag feeling, all while working on your interiors’ million YouTube views (and a thumbs up from Ken Fulk). The Italian brand’s collaboration with appliance maker Smeg is destined to deliver the perfect amount of La Dolce Vita to fashionable kitchens everywhere. The wide range of available products such as juicers, blenders, toasters and coffee-makers, champions the fashion House’s Sicilian aesthetic, created in collaboration with local artists. No need to wait for your next summer vacation – Sicily is on your counters.
BALENCIAGA
PURRFECT PARISIAN
balenciaga today is a far cry from the couture House Cristóbal Balenciaga founded 64 years ago. His current counterpart, Georgian designer Demna Gvasalia, turned the label into a global movement – just check its Instagram page. The recipe to its success? Amazing collections and frenzy-inducing accessory drops, including their latest baby, the Hello Kitty bag. Unveiled during the brand’s SS20 Paris show, the feline tote and its laced whiskers is the new collaboration with Sanrio we never knew we’d die for. It comes in bubblegum pink, black, and white, and it’s just purr-fect.
BOTTEGA VENETA
THAT POUCH
Here it is, the pouch that feats those double-tap-worry dreams. The brainchild of Bottega Veneta’s creative director Daniel Lee, the cherished item comes in several iterations, making it easy to find the one that’ll snatch your heart (and lighten your bank account). There’s the sponge pouch and the bling pouch, the intrecciato pouch and the 2.0 pouch, and then our season’s favorite, the rusty pouch. Hot to grab and quick to fly off the shelves (blink and you’ll miss it), treat these icons as the new Pokémon: you gotta get them all.
MIU MIU
DISCO GAZE
Glitter is a girl’s best friend but it’s also an incredible remedy against this season’s gloomy weather. Master of the modern with an uncanny ability for capturing the zeitgeist, Miuccia Prada has her own Miu Miu formula to keep us sparkling all the way to spring: chic and glistening sunnies. Our pick? A pair of twinkly and shiny ones with a frame coated in pink glitter like crystallized snowflakes. It’s the last winter of the decade, so make a statement, conjure up that childlike enthusiasm, and let your freak flag fly.
CELINE
MRS. CLAUS LOVES CELINE
Remember Mrs. Claus from our ‘When Santa was Younger’ feature (see page 82.)? Fancy copping her look? Because we bet she’s wearing this very pair of Celine ‘70s-inspired wedge boots. Set on her sturdy heel, she waved goodbye to her mister as he headed off for his annual world tour, but was eager to get back to her iPad and clear her Celine cart (there’s no way she’s not buying her trademark boots’ camel colorway for her post-Christmas spa vacation – she’s been juicing in anticipation). Didn’t you know that Hedi Slimane’s got a direct line to Lapland and all of Santa’s elves are green with jealousy? We don’t blame them.
