What does the Middle East smell like? According to Louis Vuitton’s Master Perfumer, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, it smells like oud, ambergris and rose – three raw ingredients that, to his nose, define the eternal essence of the region. Named Les Sables Roses, the latest fragrance from the French fashion house is warm, spicy and vibrant, exploring the contrasts and complexities of its hero-ingredients through one simple composition. The grand finale paints a sensory picture of the region, equal parts mysterious and elegant, and at the same time strong and delicate. Introduced soon after the house’s previous fragrance launch, Ombres Nomades, the two perfumes are made for layering and superposition, creating a unique olfactive signature – an invitation to the desert, with its darkly poetic appeal.
